Law enforcement loves to sound the alarm against “sovereign citizens”, but where are they?

I have never met anyone who considered themselves part of any “Sovereign Citizen” movement.  I know libertarians who work toward increasing liberty, but never have I heard the phrase “sovereign citizen” used by any libertarian I’ve known to describe themselves.  Yet law enforcement at all levels constantly warn against the threat of these nonconformist rabble-rousers.  Despite all the hand-wringing by police, these “sovereign citizens” seem to be about as commonplace as the “homegrown terrorist”, or the unicorn.

Here is Reason’s Brian Doherty on the needless pants-wetting that goes on at the mention of the “Sovereign Citizen”.
