Peace sells, but who’s buying? Trump edition

The Upper Crust of industry, politics, and regulatory/non-profits have been busy creating a plan for the post-COVID world order. What have they come up with? They call it the Great Reset, a “reimagining of capitalism”, which translates into a strangled and controlled quasi-market economy, one where both their wealth and power are safe from unpredictable market forces. The powerful, impersonal forces of a true free market have an irritating tendency to dismantle their little fiefdoms, drain their coffers, and consign them to irrelevance. That is why they are taking full advantage of the rare opportunity that COVID hysteria has presented.
TIME magazine has just run a mass collection of articles on the Great Reset, and it’s clear that these people talk openly about their plans for the world. History teaches us that we should listen very carefully when the rich and powerful openly speak about their plans for us commoners. Reading several of these pieces is like truly looking at the inner workings of these Great Reset zealots.
One such piece, entitled, “It’s 2023. Here’s how we fixed the global economy”, reads like a stream-of-consciousness left-wing authoritarian fantasy, which begins with the handy defeat of Donald Trump by Joe Biden, who proceeds to swiftly set the U.S. firmly on track to obtain the Great Reset ideal. That ideal includes bailouts for “essential companies”, a rapid transition to a “green economy”, and the American taxpayer forced to pay for it all, for the entire world.
It’s the timeless totalitarian fantasy of remaking the world in the image of some insane ideal. And the outcome has always been the same: tyranny, mass famine, mass death, slavery.
How about this time, let’s not.
Nothing suspicious about this at all, right? Are cases actually dropping, or are they being rebranded as COVID?
The Italians are beginning to suspect that this is no longer about a virus, but about control.
Business owners who operated within the 16-block area of Seattle that was taken over and destroyed by violent left-wing rioters during the ‘CHOP’ occupation in June are now suing the city for actively encouraging the mayhem.
Looks like they have a solid case.
The Spectator has a round-up of the top ten, which include vastly overstating the potential death toll, exaggerating the pandemic’s effect on hospitals, spreading fear over lifting lockdowns/exaggerating the benefits of locking down the economy, among others.
The worst lie of all, though, has been the lie that lockdowns are relatively painless, rather than a colossal human rights crime.
Pseudo-pandemic martial law. This might have appeared more reasonable if COVID-19 had a 4% mortality rate, and if it had been killing the young and healthy this entire time. But it hasn’t. Only the morbidly obese, severely unhealthy, feeble, and already-sick are in any danger from it. Children are not. The mortality rate for 70 and under is 0.05%. This does not justify a police state. It doesn’t justify anything, really. A proper government response would be to plainly tell the public that they need to eat better, get exercise, and assume personal responsibility. But the public wants a magic bullet, instant gratification, not the truth.
We are living through the strangest, and most effective, psyop of all time.
Yes, this is Barack Obama speaking to a stadium full of Biden supporters. Just kidding! It IS Obama, but he’s speaking to a few hapless souls on a sidewalk. #ButThePolls… pic.twitter.com/AOBTdVw6VC

From the Mises Institute:
“Using the Google Community Mobility Trends data, we find that the Sweden practiced social distancing far less than countries that had strict lockdowns in place.
For example, the amount of time spent at home surged 30 percent in the UK, Spain, and Italy during the harshest lockdown period. Yet during this same period, the Swedes’s amount of time spent at home never exceeded 15 percent.“
