We should be more terrified that the most powerful people in the world have no taste

Tucker points out something that has always puzzled me: why do the most powerful people in the world dress so poorly? They have unparalleled access to the best that the world has to offer, and yet they appear so frumpy in public. Why? I don’t believe its a mere attempt to not look wealthy. I believe that these people, the ones holding the axe over the lives of billions, don’t care, because they’ve never developed the curiosity or depth of character to care. Ill-fitting attire is just the most visible sign of something more unsettling: these people have no interest in culture, no interest in any truly human pursuits beyond the most shallow. Imagine these airheads actually reading a book. You know they don’t. What is happening in their heads throughout the day? These are people who do not own their lives, but are being used by others. And glad to do it, by all appearances. You can see it in their clothing and in their mannerisms. These types never develop any intellectual or spiritual complexity because to them it involves far more mental and emotional work than they are willing to commit to.

We have an aristocracy, as we always have, but one wholly devoid of people of character. An aristocracy of idiots, of culture-less airheads, of individuals without the capacity to appreciate anything truly human, hominids who will ape certain airs for the benefit of the camera, but who, when confronted with the best that our species has produced, can only stare with an animal blankness, and grow increasingly uncomfortable. This is who rules us, and it is pathetic.

Uvalde police and school district no longer cooperating with shooting investigation, according to law enforcement

This story is about to get so much worse. Did police chief Arredondo truly act alone in giving the stand-down order? Why wasn’t the shooter taken out by a sniper through the many classroom windows? Why was a military flight to Uvalde logged just before the killing began? How did the federal police arrive on the scene within minutes?
