Who is right here? Can’t forgiveness and punishment exist simultaneously? If legal institutions fail to protect society, what is the proper recourse? This is a very fundamental conversation, and it’s happening right in the middle of the best thing that Marvel ever created. Our legal institutions have a duty to protect society from animals, repeat offenders, and to make an example out of them. As it stands, the worst of our species are treated with kid gloves, given second chances under the belief that they can be rehabilitated. Who pays the price?
