If the potential for death, seizures, anaphylactic shock, blood clots, platelet loss, paralysis, among a host of other side-effects, wasn’t enough to keep you from the local mRNA gene therapy drive-thru, this may do it: development of “herpes zoster”, or shingles. Tel Aviv researchers found that the reaction occurred in 1.2% of vaccine recipients.
I don’t know about anyone else, but for me, that vaccine better be doing a heck of a lot for me personally, in order to spin the side-effect roulette wheel and get injected. Instead, we’re now being told that an annual booster might be necessary, and that we still can’t take off our masks or emerge from pandemic authoritarianism anytime soon. No thanks. I feel much better having not fiddled with the cellular processes within my own body, the outcome of millions of years of evolution. Can people outsmart the immune system, or a virus, both the products of that same process of evolution? This is the Hayekian “fatal conceit” applied to the biological world. I’ve already had COVID-19. My immune system has been in contact with it and has mounted the only defense I’ll ever need. My immune system isn’t currently paralyzing me, or handing me a case of herpes in return. I’ll take evolution over this strange form of creationism that I see running rampant.
