This is monstrous, but it was entirely predictable. Many did predict that this inhuman treatment of the elderly would lead to deaths, but the entire chittering, Twittering, pundit class laughed and rolled their eyes as they threw their support behind lockdowns, isolation, quarantine, et cetera.
