I consider seemingly small details like this, the simple removal of the door handles, as a pure first sighting of the true potential for evil that we have as a species. We have a veritably unlimited capacity for brutality against our own kind that is unique in the animal kingdom, and probably in the entire universe. This behavior is a signal that that evil, forcibly submerged by culture, is rising closer to the surface.
