Lockdown, and totalitarianism, is now the norm in New Zealand. The people are accustomed to accepting it, the government is accustomed to inflicting it, and so now it only has to follow the time-worn course that this process has followed since the dawn of our species.
There is no coming back for these nations. Nothing short of revolution will contain these powers now being wielded so brazenly by their leaders. And even with revolution comes the almost absolute certainty that only a harsher dictatorship will replace the one being overthrown.
