DHS bureaucrats afraid legislators will view their national ID as a…national ID
CATO’s Jim Harper discusses the evasiveness that DHS officials engage in when selling their ridiculous, totalitarian, REAL ID as something other than a national ID card.

What did they expect after banging on this guy’s door at 1am? Should they really have been surprised he came to the door armed? Being cops, they had to have known that his wife and child were asleep inside, so their behavior is nothing more than the reckless disregard of innocent lives. Then again, the Police State selects for low-IQ thugs as unquestioning servants.

He can’t believe people still fall for their lies.
So he doesn’t drag us into World War 3. “What do you want me to do, go to war with the Russians?” Kerry supposedly told an aid worker at a Syria donor conference in London. I would have no problem with that at all. In fact, I’d go buy him his own gun and drop him off in the middle of Moscow.
As I’ve said below, the War on Terror bureaucracy needs terrorism, threats, attacks, etc., to justify its existence. As long it can keep the populace in a state of fear over the threat of an attack, the tax dollars and power grabs will continue to flow. But since there’s no terrorism actually happening, this bureaucracy has to find something to do. One activity is the creation of a massive “terrorist” blacklist. It’s called the World-Check database, which happens to be a private company, but it claims that its clients include over 300 government and intelligence agencies, and 49 of the 50 biggest banks.
Governments love these naughty-or-nice lists. The No-Fly list is another egregious example, which contains the name of over one million Americans!
We all know why, but speech records will prove it. She’s a sycophant of the Political Class, nothing more.
“…a bureaucratic organization is an organization that cannot correct its behavior by learning from its errors.”-Michael Crozier
Quote is lifted from Don Boudreaux’s wonderful blog, Cafe Hayek. This is the essence of bureaucracy, and its chief danger. Think about the various bureaucracies that have sprung up in the wake of 9/11, the main one being the Department of Homeland Security. It’s creation rode a tidal wave of fear and paranoia, baseless fear and paranoia, it turns out. That bureaucracy doesn’t care at all about whether there’s enough terrorism to justify it’s existence, the DHS is a jobs program, and those employed there will do almost anything to keep their jobs. This includes constant fear mongering about the nonexistent terrorist threat, to probably wishing for some type of real terrorist attack to justify themselves. The Drug War bureaucracy works in much the same way: it lives off of the black market crime way that it claims to combat.
The family acts surprised. Apparently they didn’t know that a quarter of all police executions involve the mentally ill. As DiCaprio’s character in The Departed made clear, “They signed up to use their weapons.” Escalation of a chaotic situation is a near-certainty if the police get involved so DON’T call the cops.
