There are men and women in positions of authority who are attempting to implement this abusive nonsense all over the country. They’re full-grown adults too, usually in their 40s, 50s, or older. They’re doing this to kids without a second thought. We have a moral crisis, but also a crisis of mindlessness. But it’s a mindlessness among normally very intelligent, successful individuals. Is modern society inclined to produce more sociopaths? Does the atomization we’ve experienced over the course of several decades lie at the root? one thing is certain: our culture is producing silent monsters at an alarming rate.

This week, our elementary-school principal implemented a new lunch rule: masks down to take a bite, masks up to chew, absolutely no talking.

One dad offered his son $2 per violation that resulted in a trip to the principal's office.
