Our cultural feedback loop of abyssal negativity

I rarely take a look at mainstream news websites, but when I do, it’s a shock. Almost every single story details a brutal murder. It has to be upwards of 85% of the news cycle. The rest consist of rapes, stabbings, domestic violence, et cetera. Well, I would say around 10% are made up of salacious acts of infidelity or debauchery on the part of our celebrity class, borderline pornographic escapades embarked upon by high society degenerates. One wonders: to those who mentally ingest this type of news, and they number in the millions, what is it doing their psyches? When they fill their mind with this kind of darkness day in and day out, what subclinical metamorphosis is occurring within them? Never in the history of our species have we had such easy access to this snuff film news cycle, where grisly details are dumped in a digital public trough and millions come to feast. We have detoured in our progress as a species, traveling far off the rails chasing instant hedonistic gratification through high speed internet, through the magic of the screen, and we are undergoing a profound spiritual change. The screen has captivated us just as you would expect a monkey to be mesmerized by one. We are entranced, held in thrall, by the ever-changing crystal ball that we now carry within our pockets. Totally hypnotized, it appears that we may never break free from this digital prison, and why would we when it offers up such wondrous narcotic pleasures? Endless tabloid murders, then with the flick of a finger we engorge on the latest streaming series, which serves only to dramatize the degeneracy that we consume in wide-eyed, quadrupedal fashion. We are regressing, rebarbarizing, all thanks to the 5G manna, ever only an arms-length away.
