Did anyone ever think that this is what we’d be seeing, 21 months after hysteria erupted like the Yellowstone caldera? Amid the first stirrings of hysteria, it was impossible to predict exactly what absurdities we would tolerate, but even this seems beyond the pale. Instances like this appear only to uncover a psychological and moral rot that was already there, festering below the surface long before we heard about COVID-19. The sheer degeneracy of the adults who orchestrate petty cruelties like this, combined with the inability of others to put a stop to it, either through apathy, cowardice, or the desire to not stand out, points to something dark in store for us in the near future. There are good people in this world, but too few are speaking up, too many are allowing the wolves to get too close. We have our small victories against this encroaching cultural abyss, but at the moment they are amounting to little more than pinholes of light amid a vast darkness. Something has changed irreversibly, a dam has broken that cannot be repaired.

Edmond, OK parents win injunction against public school over its discriminatory COVID quarantine policy

The school’s policy was that unvaccinated students were forced to quarantine if deemed to be a “close contact” of someone who tested positive for COVID, while vaccinated students were not. This amounted to vulgar discrimination, and in practice this quarantine policy became a punishment for remaining unvaccinated. Since we know that the vaccinated are just as infectious as the unvaccinated, there was no scientific basis for the policy. The judge saw it that way, and ruled in favor of the injunction. Huge win for normalcy, and for the students at the school.

They’re not “passports”

Why are vaxpasses being called “passports”? It would be interesting to trace the origin of this particular use of the word. Was it because the association with something familiar would make the new digital ID more easily accepted by the public? A passport is something you need to travel abroad, not something to use when you’re within your country’s borders. “You have a driver’s license don’t you?!?! Same thing!” I’ve heard this several times from people several decades older than me, used as if its some trump card in the debate. But we aren’t forced to brandish our license before entering every store, and behavioral expectations (other than “don’t break the law”) don’t form the foundation of a driver’s license. In fact, our licenses should return to their original purpose of solely providing proof that you can operate a vehicle without killing yourself or others. They’re slowly turning into a data passport, and this should be reversed.

Once your ability to operate as a functioning member of society is dependent on a QR code, you will be a slave. Once your ability to buy groceries, or work, or vote, or drive, is dependent on your compliance with arbitrary behavioral expectations, you will be a slave. These are not “passports”, they are a yoke that will be used to control you completely. You will be totally at the mercy of the QR code. Not a passport. Digital slavery.
