30% of Scotland’s worst COVID cases were acquired in a hospital

Not too surprising. Hospitals are hot zones for every type of dangerous infection.

For some reason we insist on stuffing everything into one giant building, rather than spread out over multiple buildings. Or better yet, removing restrictions that allow for more independent specialty clinics. Dismantling the anti-competitive regulations that prop up these monstrous hospitals should be job #1 very soon.

Kroger says it accidentally administered “empty syringes” instead of COVID vax

Good god. How does one administer an “empty syringe”, exactly? It doesn’t instill confidence in the abilities of the people performing the injections. Who are they? How much experience do they have with this? These vaccines are being administered all over the place: Target fitting rooms, various grocery stores, random parking lots, et cetera. Mistakes are happening all the time. The cavalier way that this is being handled is strange, considering the fact that these vaccines haven’t been licensed by the FDA, is a completely new vaccine technology, and is still technically in the trial phase.

It’s not anti-cop to believe that the power of police should be strictly limited

Derek Chauvin, the cop who knelt on George Floyd’s neck until he died, has seen his third degree murder charge reinstated by the judge at the order of the MN supreme court.

Here is the graphic bodycam footage of Floyd’s arrest and death. He goes limp at around the 16-minute mark, but Chauvin continues to bear down on his neck. Clearly unnecessary.

Floyd here was in an unwinnable situation, once he was on the ground. If he moved, Chauvin would continue to bear down, cutting off his oxygen. If he tried to explain that he couldn’t breathe, the cops would say, “Oh you’ve got enough oxygen to talk! You’re fine.” You can hear them say this several times. And it has been reported elsewhere that MN cops learned their restraint techniques from Israel’s Apartheid-state thugs, from whom they and many other American cops receive periodic training.

Was Floyd a dirtbag? Probably. But so was Chauvin. The body language of the cops make it fairly obvious that they believed they could get away with almost anything. That’s the problem. There must be accountability at every level of government, but blind cop-worship is a hindrance to that.

What if there existed pro-Antifa police departments? PD’s with an anti-white bias? Imagine Floyd as white, and his killers as black. Or imagine them all-white, or all-black. Whatever. Imagine Floyd was a political activist, or journalist. They’re killed all the time by cops around the world. It’s the lack of restraint, fueled by the belief that they’ll never receive punishment.

Cops are great people, and necessary for the functioning of a free society. But they are human, and therefore must operate with strictly-defined limits. It is possible to support cops while simultaneously condemning this out-of-control behavior.

It’s the job of the court to determine guilt, not a Barney Fife who thinks he’s the Punisher. This behavior needs to be corrected immediately. Abolish police unionization, abolish qualified immunity, forbid donations to police departments, forbid any funding outside of the community being policed.

Prolonged mask-wearing is probably deforming our kids’ ears

Here is a paper from June of last year: “Can the elastic of surgical face masks stimulate ear protrusion in children?”

The unfortunate answer is yes, it can:

“All bodies subject to the action of a force undergo deformation, which depends not only on the intensity of the force applied, but also on the nature of the body itself. In general, deformations can be of two types: elastic, which disappear when the force is no longer applied, and non-elastic, which remain even after applying the force. Cartilage has memory thanks to the presence of elastic fibres; although this allows it to return to its initial condition when deformed, if the stimulus persists, it can lead to permanent changes in its conformation…

…It is well known that the pressure of the elastic on the skin of the posterior concha of the auricle for a long time causes pain and erythema, due to the continuous rubbing of the elastic on the skin in the same position. This has led some users to apply silicone rear ear supports that decrease decubitus, but increase the distance of the auricle from the mastoid region. Others, on the other hand, prefer to change the position of the elastic by moving it more towards the antihelix than the mastoid region, thus applying an elastic force in an area where the cartilage has less resistance, with a consequent increase in the cephaloauricular angle of the outer auricle.

Therefore, the use of surgical masks with ear loops in growing children for many hours a day not only leads to intolerance and decubitus of the retroauricular skin (as for adults), but can also influence the correct growth and angulation of the outer ear with the consequent increase in the incidence of protrusion of the outer auricle.”

Permanent physical damage to those least likely to be harmed by COVID-19.
