Big Tech makes a play to wipe Parler from the internet

Apple and Google have both removed Parler from their app stores, and Amazon Web Services has kicked Parler off its hosting platform.This comes in the midst of a massive purge of conservative/Trump/right wing users and groups on Facebook and Twitter. It appears that Apple, Google, and Amazon are ensuring that victims of the Facebook/Twitter purges have nowhere else to go. Parler became enormously popular among Trump supporters and conservatives for its dedication to free speech, and they flocked to the platform by the hundreds of thousands.

And now Big Tech is taking out their competition directly, and in a very overt and coordinated manner. It would have been pretty hard to believe that these corps would have coordinated such an attack against one of their competitors even just a few months ago. Now it is our reality. It sends a message to other would-be free speech platforms: if you’re not with us, prepare to be purged.

The obvious next step is for websites themselves to be deleted by hosts, and for all hosting platforms to refuse to host certain content. And then it will be emails, newsletters, et cetera.

What will be left open for dissenters, heretics, and heterodox thinkers?

Trump supporters, and really anyone critical of the emerging politically correct, pro-lockdown, pro-endless pandemic, Democratic establishment are being silenced. How do they think this will end?

The pandemic is bogus. The police state is very real.

Big Media controls our reality

If you never had access to the internet, or never owned a television, chances are that you would never have believed a unique Doomsday virus was ravaging the globe. You also wouldn’t believe that the United States was bordering on civil war. You’d live your life, talk with your neighbors, engage in small talk at the store or work, and go home. Life, and reality, is what you’d see with your own eyes, not images or voices or sounds from a screen and speakers.

Contrast what you see and hear on television with what you see and hear throughout your day. They aren’t exactly similar, are they? Think about the power that Big Media hold over your worldview. They effectively control your reality, warping it, and compelling you to act against what you see with your own eyes. It’s unbelievable, really.

What will be the consequences of Big Tech’s censorship blitzkrieg?

Sam Harris has always appeared to me to be an unprincipled thug, the kind of guy who can spin a convincing, pseudo-intellectual rationale for just about anything, and even worse, convince himself of his own bullsh*t. One of the all-too-many high-IQ idiots who are paradoxically incapable of approaching social problems with any semblance of principle. A generous helping of intellect combined with an utter absence of character. What a dangerous combination. These people, who continuously proclaim their rejection of fundamentalist ideology, backpedal into fundamentalism on a regular basis. You could set your watch by it. And it always ends up being a fundamentalism of the authoritarian variety. No coincidence. They see problems in the world, and they are convinced that only with enough force could these problems be solved. They gravitate towards authoritarian control. They see censorship of the “bad man”, and praise it, rather than understanding the horror of the act of censorship itself. They are willfully blind to the place that censorship leads. They make the mistake of every person since the dawn of our species: that power can be controlled. That it can be wielded for good. What fools.
