The police shooting of Australian doesn’t fit the familiar pattern

It’s normally a black person getting gunned down by a white officer, not a white Australian shot by a Somali immigrant with a badge.

Nationality seems to be the reason for the somewhat muted response from groups that normally protest cop killings, as well as the usual suspects hesitating to rally behind the cop.  Similar to pro-gun advocates hesitating to speak out against the murder of concealed-carrier and law-abiding citizen, yet black, Philando Castile.
