Merck’s modus operandi: “Neutralise”, “discredit”, “destroy” critics of pharma products

Aside from falsifying safety tests for it’s murderous pain medication, Vioxx, Merck also discussed how to silence physicians critical of the drug. In 1999, Merck employees batted around a hit list of doctors that needed neutralizing, with one email stating that:

“We may need to seek them out and destroy them where they live …”

The shenanigans of Merck during the Vioxx saga border on the surreal, such as the pro-Vioxx pop song written for sales reps, and a legion of reporter stalkers to ensure the “correct” story gets published.

This idiotic, evil entity lived through a scandal that should have leveled the entire industry. Instead, it flourishes today, and you’ve probably injected your children with one of its products.
