Could Lebanon alone win a war against Israel?

Lebanon’s military sits at 84,000 active troops, compared to Israel’s 169,500. Lebanon has an air force of just 2,500, compared to Israel’s 34,000. But Israel isn’t only attacking Lebanon. They’re also attacking Syria, a nation with 15,000 active duty Air Force, with 170,000 active duty military. Lebanon alone could make a big dent probably, but would never come out on top without Syria fighting along side it.

This is just a private thought experiment, because it may soon be a reality. Israel continues to launch air strikes within Lebanon, killing civilians, and amassing along its border. Lebanon will eventually be forced to respond with significant counter strikes. My guess is that a war plan is under development between Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and probably even Iran. This war would not be won by Israel alone, which means that the US and the UK would be drawn in.

The conclusion? Lebanon’s inevitable response will trigger a no-turning-back descent into a regional war. This would end Israel’s assault on Gaza, as Israel would be forced to focus its military on the new war.
