Overreaching, totalitarian authority is wielded as a matter of course, and has been for decades, by the 500 “elected” representatives in DC who have absolutely no concern for our wellbeing or the well-being of our nation’s future. They are the stewards and facilitators of American decline. Have you noticed that no decision appears to be made with native-born Americans in mind? So the question is academic. It’s not that the power should or should not be used, but who should be using it. 500 human slugs, the same ones who have been there for decades, or a much smaller but more focused cadre of true believers who could arrest our descent immediately?
