Even on an anonymous blog, I feel compelled to occasionally apply samizdat.
Reading John Locke’s Second Treatise on Government, you can almost feel what Jefferson felt when he wrote the Declaration. It’s there, in utero, as if in wait for someone like Jefferson to distill the essence that became our founding creed. You can hear it like a tune thrumbing under Locke’s words. Even stylistically, they are very similar.
The progression of managed decline of the American Republic seems to have accelerated. The Old Stock are beginning to realize that the approved channels of change provide no real change at all, and are even designed to do so. They realize that what once existed here exists no longer, and they fear for the future of their children, and their children’s children. It’s important to think about more than just the present crisis. We have to mentally project the logical conclusion in our minds, and realize that something is happening which will soon be irreversible, and we must understand that this will be the legacy to all our descendants, who will be forced to contend with a nightmare that we were too weak and enfeebled, too meek, to ward off at the pass.
The forgotten progeny of America, scattered and in despair, may yet conform a new faith. It’s a question not if but of when. And maybe not even new, but about 250 years old. The appeal to Heaven lies in their hearts thus far unarticulated, but the right is theirs, and it’s finally beginning to register, the only path forward. The philosophical-historic fulcrum pivots amid just such cultural/existential crises, and managed, even planned, decline, is shattered to reveal the dawn beneath. The well-laid plans of American decline are not inevitable, though we’re made to believe as such. And too many do. Too many who see what’s happening and understand, then throw their hands up and say, “there’s nothing I can do”. That helpless despair has been planted purposely in your mind. It’s meant to ideologically anesthetize, to spiritually paralyze, and if it prevents you from acting, it is performing the task it was designed to do.
