Employment that doesn’t require you to be physically present means that it could be completed from anywhere in the world, by anyone in the world. And how much of it can be automated? As the public is browbeaten into silence over the ethical and scientific wisdom of COVID lockdown policy, it also silences criticism from an economics standpoint. This criticism must be taken into account, but the people for whom staying home is an option refuse to listen. The people that don’t have the luxury of staying at home, who exist somewhere on the bottom half of the economic ladder, are never allowed to voice an opinion about their predicament, even though they are bearing the full-bore brunt of the chaotic lockdowns. These tens of millions have so far been silent, and will continue to be the ones dying on the beach of this economic war.
The question, though, is how much abuse can 50 million of the most vulnerable people of a nation endure before they take the whip away?
From page 66 of volume 3 of his masterpiece trilogy, Law, Legislation, and Liberty:
“But the near-universal acceptance of a belief does not prove that it is valid or even meaningful any more than the general belief in witches or ghosts proved the validity of these concepts. What we have to deal with in the case of ‘social justice’ is simply a quasi-religious superstition of the kind which we should respectfully leave in peace so long as it merely makes those happy who hold it, but which we must fight when it becomes the pretext of coercing other men. And the prevailing belief in ‘social justice’ is at present probably the gravest threat to most other values of a free civilization.
…there can be no doubt that moral and religious beliefs can destroy a civilization and that, where such doctrines prevail, not only the most cherished beliefs but also the most revered moral leaders, sometimes saintly figures whose unselfishness is beyond question, may become grave dangers to the values which the same people regard as unshakeable. Against this threat we can protect ourselves only by subjecting even our dearest dreams of a better world to ruthless rational dissection.”
The funny thing about what is happening right now in the West: a self-inflicted economic collapse, widespread social unrest, the sudden rise of an unbelievable American authoritarianism, et cetera, is that many libertarians over the past 30 to 40 years have made their name peddling various impending apocalypse scenarios on par with what is happening now. The 80s and 90s saw many libertarians warning of social collapse, urging listeners to stockpile gold and guns, and await the end of the world. What is so surreal about our present state is that it tops anything even the most hyperbolic of the Doomsdayers have said.
These people promoted visions of chip implants, the “mark of the Beast”, FEMA camps, “martial law”, and other totalitarian nightmares.
But the predictions of those libertarians never came to pass. Instead, the apocalypse arrived in a very different manner. Fear, fanned by corporate news, government, and regulatory agencies, mutated into a deadly social contagion, and spread wildly through the population. Rather than reacting sanely and responsibly, State and local bureaucrats made emotional decisions regarding COVID-19, and taking the most reckless and dangerous actions imaginable.
What is so strange is that we have approached very close to the libertarian-envisioned apocalypse, but it’s genesis was almost purely psychological. We’ve lived through, and are still living through, a mass psychological event, a collective madness.
If anything, the great COVID hysteria of 2020 should make us understand how easily the modern world can unravel, based on the psychological state of the masses alone.

The German Political Class, desperately trying to maintain their grasp on the Official Narrative currently collapsing into dust in their hands, ironically branded some of the protestors as “neo-Nazis”.
