The greatest danger and threat to civilization itself, is the glaring fact that almost no one has even a basic understanding of what makes our modern free society possible. There is no understanding of the market economy, and because of that, there is no widespread understanding of the danger that interfering with that free economy poses. It’s why we’ve allowed state and local governments to shutter businesses without any resistance whatsoever. Even as society slowly disintegrates, most of us remain blind to the cause. This ignorance is why we allow our own government to pick a pointless, unnecessary, and jingoistic fight with our largest trading partner, China. A trading partner with whom we unknowingly benefit greatly. The “Wuhan Flu”, the ‘China Virus”, China wants to kill us, China this, China that. It’s the familiar “external threat” horsecrap that is repackaged, reheated, and fed to us on a daily basis. And boy do we eat it up.

The greatest and most immediate threat to the safety and security of US citizens is their own government. A testament to our ignorance as a citizenry is the fact that our government punitively closes businesses in mass, throwing 50 million people out of work, forces masks upon us, robs us blind through a monetary policy that could only be described as maniacal if someone took the time to understand it, and we sit by and take it, allowing that same government to redirect our anger and outrage to the most desired target.

It’s Groundhog Day in America. We are stuck in a time loop, and each moment we believe that we will finally free ourselves, our fear and paranoia is stoked, and we fall back into the arms of our abuser, and we succumb to the same drugs and lies that brought us here in the beginning.

Our lives, the modern world itself depends on breaking the trance, of refusing to believe the lies, no matter how convincing they sound. If we are to live free lives, and ensure that our children and grandchildren do as well, they we must break free.

This will begin happening everywhere. Police departments that refuse to enforce a mask ordinance will be replaced, or superseded by a new, TSA-style legion of pandemic Stasi.

If there’s one thing that we can all agree on concerning the COVID nightmare, it’s that the face mask issue drives normal people insane. The Political Class has found the perfect way to bring the ugliness of political division to the real world, to the daily life of normal Americans, creating ugly conflicts while citizens are just going about their lives, whether buying groceries, clothes, school supplies for their kids, now we are all at risk of a confrontation based on whether we wear a mask or not. Overwhelmingly, the confrontation is initiated by a busybody mask-wearer griping at a stranger out of nowhere for their lack of a mask. These self-appointed mask police don’t appear to care at all about whether the maskless individual is unable to wear the mask for medical reasons. They see non-conformity and they want to blot it out. The primitive, conformist, tribal part of the brain lights up, seeing any expression of non-conformity as a threat to the herd.

No longer can we safely keep our political views to ourselves while out in public. We are now forced to take a side: mask, or no mask. And this of course translates into Democrat, or Republican. Biden, or Trump. “Science”, or “anti-Science”. And, increasingly, “Anti-racist” and “racist”. It’s a package deal, heads you lose, tails you lose. The casino had the game rigged before you walked in the door. To not wear a mask is now seen as an offensive, politically incorrect act. “But you’re going to kill people!” Is the implication, which throws gasoline on the rage of these pathetic hall monitors. These people don’t care about the science, or the non-event of a COVID infection. They don’t care, for instance, that for someone for whom COVID poses a risk, a mask poses a far greater risk. Should people with asthma or other respiratory problems wear a mask? If so, then who are we really protecting by wearing masks?

Masks have become an ideology for too many people, a pure heroin dose of primitive euphoria, a State-sanctioned pseudo-religion, replete with a built-in dogma, Priestly class, creation story, Armageddon story, witch hunts, etc. The familiar framework, the recipe too good to resist for too many people.

Our pre-historic mind is always in the background, telling us, “Protect the herd. Protect the herd.” Mask mandates hand that voice a megaphone, giving it moral sanction. And these people move through the modern world, hating it, hating individual autonomy, hating freedom, and playing their part in the destruction of it all.

We’re witnessing the birth of a powerful new religion, one backed by the full faith and force of industry and government. And a perfectly formulated orthodoxy is consuming once-free minds by the thousands every day, attacking the psyche with lethal precision. Will it end? Will we be able to rebuild the modern world, and restore our autonomy and freedom? Or are we witnessing one of the great civilizational declines that has happened so often in history? Is this how the modern world ends, almost like Atlantis, suddenly and all-consuming, and with the screaming mad support of millions? It would be a tragedy if it did without at least a few voices raging against the rise of a new Dark Age.

A period of crisis always seem to expose, like nothing else ever could, the true inner nature and beliefs of a person. When civilization itself appears to be at stake, when the propaganda is blotting out the sun, when emotions are high and rational thought is found wanting, you find out what sort of a person someone is. Regardless of whether they’re a brilliant mind, in possession of a superhuman ability to write and entertain, or are known for their independent and fiery wit, it’s the epochal, civilization-transforming crisis that reveals the content of their soul, and whether it’s composed of steel or tinfoil. Sadly, I’ve lost respect for a great many writers, whom I’d naively believed that, because they were so talented with words, they held correct opinions. I won’t name them, I just don’t bother to read them anymore. In fact, I’ve lost the taste for using uncommonly clever and clear writing as a benchmark with which to judge someone as a thinker. I won’t name the names of these talented writers who succumbed almost immediately to the virus propaganda, and who have assimilated themselves into the pandemic collective, and perversely offering up their talents in service to the pandemic police state.

I will, however, name one writer whom everyone with any shred of dignity remaining should immediately begin reading: Peter Hitchens, brother of the late Christopher Hitchens, and easily his equal in intelligence and literary talent. His virulent and eloquent opposition to the stampeding hypochondriac fundamentalism is heroic, and his columns are strident in their denunciations of the mindless self-suffocating herd.

Here is one of his latest columns: Face masks turns us into voiceless submissives—and it’s not science forcing us to wear them, it’s politics:

”Look at the muzzled multitudes, their wide eyes peering out anxiously from above the hideous gag which obscures half their faces and turns them from normal human beings into mouthless, obedient submissives.

The psychological effect of these garments, on those who wear them, is huge.
And it also has another nasty result for society as a whole.

Dissenters, who prefer not to muzzle themselves, are made to stand out from the surrendered majority, who then become quite keen on pressuring the non-conformists to do as they are told, and on informing against them.
I predicted the same outcome during the House Arrest period in April, and was mocked for it, but it came true.

When all this began, I felt fear. But it was not fear of the disease, which was clearly overstated from the start.

It was fear of exactly what is happening to us, the final closing down of centuries of human liberty and the transformation of one of the freest countries on Earth into a regimented, conformist society, under perpetual surveillance, in which a subservient people scurries about beneath the stern gaze of authority.

It is my view that, if you don that muzzle, you are giving your assent to that change.“

It’s better just to read the rest in it’s entirety. It’s the voice of a true citizen of the West, a voice of an individual refusing to bow down before the primitive golden calf of authoritarianism, one refusing to allow liberty and Western civilization commit suicide without at least one resounding objection. Most importantly, it’s the voice of the individual refusing to surrender something so precious as liberty, even as everyone around him gives it up without so much as a thought. It’s the voice of a person who understands that to trade your liberty is to sell your soul.
