The manufactured narrative of the American worker shortage

It’s a little sad, and more than a little pathetic, that Mike Rowe allows himself to be used in this way to sabotage future American trade workers. You only have to think about it more than two seconds to realize how ludicrous and brazen the lie is. How many highly-skilled, workhorse mechanics are working right now in your city for under $50k? If Ford offered these jobs at that wage, they’d long ago be filled.

This is another variation of the “no one wants to work!” Boomer narrative that led to our present crisis. The worst part of Rowe’s act is the blue collar faux folksy wisdom he brings to it, suckering people who otherwise wouldn’t. It’s slop to hoodwink the Boomers into supporting one final legislative orgy of American despoliation.
