The future of medicine is psychedelic

The miracle of cascading marijuana legalization across the country has led to an awakening of its seemingly endless physical and mental benefits, but something else has happened that has gone too little noticed: the decades of Drug War propaganda instilled in our minds from an early age has quickly vanished. People much older than I am, who were more than likely subjected to the far more militant prohibitionist propaganda than I ever was, are now experimenting with CBD oil, with some even going whole hog and getting their medical marijuana card. The stigma did not linger, despite the billions wasted on Drug War propaganda. In a way it’s even more tragic to think on the countless lives ruined over the decades by the foolish, reckless war on cannabis, now that we see how quickly attitudes have changed. It’s as if one day, people began waking up to realize that, yes, it is just a plant, why support totalitarian diktats against its consumption? A medical revolution is now underway, as more and more people are finding that a relatively inexpensive plant provides far more effective relief that a jar of pills.

And with the decriminalization of magic mushrooms in Denver heralding the dawn of legal psychedelics, we are about to see something truly astonishing in terms of not just medicine, but humanity’s re-connection with substances that are bound so closely with our mental/spiritual capacity.

Oakland may decriminalize ‘magic mushrooms’. What are they, and will California follow?

I no longer feel any impulse to write about the War on Drugs. It’s coming to an end. Everyone now sees the insanity and tragedy it left behind. We feel ashamed that it was allowed to endure for so long, but we’re finally stepping out of that madness and into the light. If there’s any evidence of our ability to truly evolve into something better, it’s marijuana legalization, along with incipient legalization of psychedelics. When we evolve into something more compassionate, more humane, we’ve moved closer to our potential as a species.

We are entering what could be deemed the Psychedelic Renaissance, or Psychedelic Awakening. If the market is allowed to operate unchained, then we’ll see entire industries restructure, with some collapsing entirely. Their stranglehold on shaping public narrative regarding their products will vanish. Children will cease to be given amphetamines for “hyperactivity”, senior citizens will similarly trade Pharma’s addictive pills for marijuana. Veterans, trauma survivors, and people generally looking to feel better or in search of safe stimulation will eschew Pharma’s poison for the myriad mind-healing psychedelics that will be far more available in the coming years, as more and more people come to learn that they are equally as safe as marijuana.

Iran’s thriving Jewish population is an inconvenient fact for war-pushers and propagandists

Iran is home to the Middle East’s largest Jewish population outside of Israel. The capitol city, Tehran, contains over 30 synagogues, where the Jewish population can worship with no fear of reprisal. These are facts that you will never hear on a corporate news channel, on by any of the avatars of the perpetually pro-war Political Class. The narrative at the moment is that Iran is somehow a mortal threat to “U.S. Interests”, and are the implacable enemy of international Jewry. The narrative is wrong.

Iran’s Jews say they feel safe, respected–and are Iranians at heart

Memorial Day should cease to be another holiday for cheerleading endless war

Most people that prattle the loudest about “supporting the troops” won’t be able to tell you the suicide rate among active-duty and veterans. 321 active-duty killed themselves last year, Around 5,000 veterans also killed themselves.  The people that cheer on every new regime-change war that US soldiers are forced to wage can’t even find the location on a map. The idiots so obsessive about saluting the flag, “standing for the Pledge”, and engaging in the most stupefyingly ignorant displays of vulgar patriotism can’t even give a coherent reason for the existence of all the wars our government drags soldiers into. Yet, because they support the troops, they support the wars. This makes sense to their primitive minds. And on days like Memorial Day, this vast class of drones, their minds long ago hijacked by Pentagon propaganda, can worship war, and worship the State, and neglect to acknowledge the reality of not just soldier suicides, but the destruction that these wars have wrought for millions of people all over the world. The minds of these people have no defenses. In order to gain their support for a new war the government need only wrap it in a sufficient number of flags, and use just the right imagery, in order to subvert whatever remaining capacity to think that they retain. Their emotions sufficiently hijacked, they are now malleable puppets and will be directed at command.

The millions of blindly pro-war US citizens are the true reason that so many regime-change wars are fought, and so many soldiers die. If they were smarter, less susceptible to emotional manipulation, they would refuse to go along with every new war. And if they refused to support the war, the war wouldn’t happen. They also wouldn’t engage in meaningless displays of vulgar patriotism, and they would know the number of soldiers blowing their brains out on a yearly basis. They would see it as a real, preventable tragedy created by the mindless act of war. Forcing soldiers to fly overseas to murder people on their own land, or in their own towns and villages makes the soldier not want to live anymore. He can’t live with what he did, so he kills himself. I’ve read PTSD described as a movie of your worst, most horrible memory playing in your mind repeatedly. A memory you can’t escape from. Suicide is seen as their own way out.

If these pot-bellied, flag-saluting, troop-supporting, war-romanticizing pigs actually cared about the troops, they would demand their immediate return of all troops from the myriad theaters of war. They would celebrate the troops here at home, in person, face to face. Once home, they would protect the troops bodily from being sent to another foreign desert to die, or lose their mind in. They would demand that the troops have free access to the only known drugs that help to lift veterans out of the living Hell in their minds. They would tell the troops to throw away the pharmaceutical pills that will only drive them further into insanity, and instead give them MDMA, psilocybin, marijuana, mescaline, DMT, ayahuasca, and other natural psychedelics.

This won’t happen without some fundamental change, a mental awakening on a level that our species does not appear capable of. The wars could end without this change, but only by great effort. And even then, the latent potential of the vast number of people to utterly succumb to the first clever piece of war propaganda will always be there.

To truly support the troops, we should defend them from our own government. We should refuse to allow their lives to be so recklessly thrown away for another war of choice.

In honor of Memorial Day, here is arguably the greatest anti-war song ever written:

“I had a good home and I left. I had a good home and I left. Right. Left.”

The hubris of science, DDT Edition

Check out this bit of propaganda from 1947, showing the all-knowing First Worlders bringing the benefits of Science to what I’m sure they considered the backwater rubes of the Third World. Unbelievably, the man of Science sprays a bowl of food with DDT, and then eats it, in an attempt to convince the people I’m sure he considers “savages” of its safety. From the looks on their faces, it doesn’t seem to have had the desired effect, as the Africans begin looking at him with the expression that suggests that they now believe him to be a first-rate dumb-ass:

The Africans that were forced to sit and listen to these idiots had it right, their initial gut reaction was that the suspicious clear chemical would poison them.  What I find amazing is the attitude of condescending certainty that the man has while eating DDT.  He is absolutely convinced that he is right. And the Africans sitting there, exasperated, rolling their eyes at these nutjobs who seem to feel an overriding need to convince them of the miracle of the chemical they are ingesting. You couldn’t dream up a better metaphor for the entire history of U.S. intervention in the Third World.

It is amazing how often governments and humanitarian organizations from the First World take their new inventions and attempt to foist them on the populations of the Third World. I’m sure these people have had quite enough of being fed, liberated, and generally talked down to by the arrogant, ignorant rich of the West. Our interventions do nothing but leave their nations in shambles, ruining their economies and replacing their governments with malleable Western puppets.

Israel’s useful idiots have utterly ruined the meaning of the term ‘anti-Semite’

Some thoughts regarding the recent treatment of Michigan congresswoman Rashida Tlaib at the hands of the legion of fanatically pro-Israel commentators that police public thought and opinion regarding the object of their affection: In their sycophantic adoration of Israel, they have utterly ruined the meaning of a term used to legitimately designate the many people who have held, and expressed, actual anti-Semitic views. “Anti-Semite” has been a legitimate accusation in many instances, but aiming it at every single critic of Israel has done nothing but cheapen it, doing a disservice to Jewish people who have suffered from actual anti-Semitism. Israel’s government isn’t all Jews, it’s a government. And it has committed crimes no different than many other incarnations of that evil institution throughout history. Its crimes deserve to be pointed out, just as the crimes of all governments do. But criticism of Israel’s crimes can be, and have been, blunted by throwing the race card at anyone acknowledging them. No one wants to be called a racist, especially an anti-Semite. So the task of pointing out Israel’s crimes against Palestinians, both historical as well as present-day crimes, falls to the few writers who don’t mind being called a racist. Back to Tlaib. A person of Palestinian descent, Tlaib described in an interview with Yahoo a “calming feeling” regarding the creation of Israel, knowing her Arab ancestors provided a haven for the Jewish people in the wake of the Holocaust. Here are her words:

“There’s kind of a calming feeling I always tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians, who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports…

I mean, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time, and I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away, right, and it was forced on them. And so when I think about a one-state, I think about the fact that, why couldn’t we do it in a better way?”

The modern State of Israel has to be one of history’s greatest ironies: that out of the Holocaust, a select few of the survivors could exploit the world’s goodwill in such a way as to build their own ethnic Apartheid State

I, for one, wouldn’t feel “calm” the way Tlaib does, in regards to my family’s treatment by a group of thugs. I’d be pissed off, and would probably never fail to mention it in casual conversation. But it speaks to the depth of her character that she can make peace with it while still retaining the capacity to criticize it in a very measured way, unlike many religions, and governments, that pass down historical grudges like heirlooms. Also, Israel isn’t the only safe have for Jews. Jewish people do very well in the United States. The Hasidic Jews of New York are thriving, despite the recent bout of actual, real anti-Semitism that flared up during the idiotic Great Measles Freak-Out of 2019.

Yet Tlaib has been unceasingly dragged in the deluge of editorials that followed her comments. They have nothing to fortify their arguments against her, so of course they brandish the race card, and how many people really take it seriously anymore? Tlaib was mild in the extreme regarding the founding of Israel. She could’ve mentioned the slaughter at Deir Yassin, where the Irgun and Lehi terrorist groups slaughtered hundreds of Arab families. The slaughter had an aim: to frighten the surrounding villages so much that they would leave. And they did leave. The massacre triggered the 1948 Palestinian Exodus.

Lehi was also the terrorist group that assassinated Swedish WW2 hero Folke Bernadotte, the man who, ironically enough, negotiated over 31,000 imprisoned Jews from Nazi concentration camps. He was unanimously chosen by the UN Security Council as the ideal candidate to mediate the Arab-Israeli conflict. He was apparently being too even-handed for the extremists on the side of Israel, and they murdered him! His killers were later pardoned, decades later. They are celebrated by Israel now as heroes.

The accusation of anti-Semitism deserves to remain unblemished. There have been, and will be, people deserving of the accusation. Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar, are not among them. They are legitimate critics of the government of Israel, and that government’s crimes against other people. That accusation, though, appears to have been irredeemably cheapened by its careless use.
